Bean the Moth

The Hawkmoths mistaken namesake and Mascot, and a Surprising Source of comfort

Appearance

Bean is an altersapien silk moth, with cream fur, large patterned wings, a chubby frame and visible abdomen. She has deep blue eyes and a white fringe of hair.

When using her green magic, her wing patterns illuminate pink.

Personality

Bean has a grumpy and somewhat childish temperament, though ultimately means well, with a strong sense of justice (if a bit naïve), though very much enjoys cuddles and affection and acting as a very large weighted blanket.

She possesses the ability to talk only when shapeshifted, preferring to use only sign language in her base form.

Biography

Bean and her sisters were born of Mothra, the goddess of Infant Island, though they were all lost through a schism and were found by Zach in his train-house.

While her sisters were exterminated, causing Zeydaan at the time to have a breakdown, Bean was recovered and given to her as a gift and to act as a therapy moth.

Bean grew attached to Zeydaan through her latter adolescence, soaking in energies from her over time, gradually increasing her intelligence and subtly mutating (and transitioning) her within her grown imago state, extending her lifespan too.

She underwent a second metamorphosis within crossroads cottage, fully infusing with interdimensional energy and becoming an Alter Moth instead- Isabella decided to adopt her as a sister from that point.

Bean works within the Maiden Menagerie as Zeydaan/Isabella's partner and support, while also working as a personal combat trainer, and for the Underdawgz Adventuring group.

Abilities

Bean possesses a modified version of Zeydaan/Isabella's own magic, having the same connections to the wider multiverse, able to shapeshift due to energies from other versions of herself, and eventually create portals to other worlds. However, due to having less natural magic, she is unable to transfer her energy to others to shapeshift them, nor able to shapeshift as often as her sister without recovery time, though as a result she has no risk of corruption nor interdimensional blindness.
