The Dragon Girls (and Zeydaan) go for Ice Cream — Story
The employees of the Maiden Menagerie Cafe were justifiably proud of their dessert menu, but sometimes you just wanted to go somewhere else, try something new...
Thus, they sat down to eat at ICE CREAM SUPREME (31,000 flavors!)! Zeydaan the wolf licked her chops (careful not to get anything on the dress Nia lent them). "I got a Gold, Caramel, and White Chocolate sundae!"
"Mmmm..." the others chorused appreciatively. Amrin the longdragon held her longspoon over her scoops in anticipation. "I got a Strawberry and Dark Chocolate Ganache!"
"Mmmm…" the others chorused appreciatively.
Blaze the Valstrax's serving was the smallest of the lot, but she looked no less hungry and happy to have it. "I got a Bunny Dango mochi!"
"Mmmm…" the others chorused appreciatively.
Sapphira Azula Cerulea MacGregor ("Blue") the Very Scottish Flood Dragon put on a brave face. "I got Irn Bru, Oysters, and Whisky!" Instead of going "Mmmm..." again, the other three made confused noises of disgust. Blue glared.
"WHAT? It was the most Scottish thing I could think of, and how better to prove to myself and the world how proud of my Scottish heritage I am by constantly doing the Most Scottish Thing Possible?"
"What, no Haggis?" Blaze joked. IzZey licked the last remaining molecules of ice cream off their spoon.
"Actually, Haggis isn't so bad. Big, sheep-flavored sausage." Zeydaan chipped in, while Blue made an Annoyed Dragon Noise™ (patent pending) at her friends, then popped a huge spoonful of her ...delightful ice cream into her mouth.
She chewed, swallowed, and stared. Stared off into the depths of space, beyond the normal limits mortal minds could fathom. Slowly, her face twisted into a Perfectly Natural Looking Smile. "It is good. I like it. I will eat more." She spoke in a monotone voice that Wasn't Suspicious At All. Refusing to give up in despair in the face of adversity was Very Scottish after all.
For several weeks afterwards, the local telepaths all wondered who or what had let out that most powerful and profound psychic scream of anguish.
